Havering NHS Trust New Public Records Building
Contractor - Lakehouse
Total Protection were contacted by the main contractor - Lakehouse Contracts with reference to the above mentioned site whereby the building sits on a landfill site and tests were carried out to establish the amount of methane gas migrating through the existing concrete floor.
Results show - 25%-40% being present within the building.
Having been given this information our technical department carried out a site inspection and survey.
We were then able to put forward a full specification to meet the requirements to prevent the emission of methane gas.
Our highly experienced technical department put forward the following specification:
Heavy duty screed - Flowcrete isocrete k-screed
The above mentioned materials were chosen for the ability to be laid onto an unbonded surface or floating.
Protective Coatings
Our technical department chose epoxy water based protective coating to provide protection and also a decorative finish.
Due to the time restrictions highly skilled operatives were able to complete the contract on time.
